The evolution of Inceptio Studio has been shaped by a continuous dialogue between tradition and innovation. Founded in 1999 by architect Indrit Hamiti and rebranded as Inceptio in 2019, the practice has developed an architectural methodology that spans interior design, architecture, urban planning, and territorial strategies. With extensive professional experience in Albania and internationally, the studio has established a design approach known as techno-vernacular architecture, in which local building traditions are reinterpreted through contemporary technologies to create architecture that responds sensitively to its cultural, environmental, and social context. Within this philosophy, sustainability is not regarded as an additional design objective, but as the fundamental principle guiding every spatial, material, and constructive decision.
Blerina Agritourism emerged from the aspiration to restore the relationship between people, the land, food, and the rhythms of rural life. Originally conceived as an educational garden and gradually transformed into an agritourism destination, the project creates an environment where hospitality, education, and nature coexist as inseparable components of a unified experience. Architecture is not presented as an autonomous object but as an integral part of the landscape and everyday life, offering visitors an authentic encounter with the place and its local culture.
The architectural concept is founded upon a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional Albanian building typologies. Stone masonry, timber elements, and pitched clay-tiled roofs are employed not as nostalgic references, but as components of an architectural language that combines local craftsmanship with the requirements of contemporary living. Locally sourced materials, indigenous construction techniques, and the preservation of the existing landscape of olive and citrus groves result in a low-impact intervention in which architecture evolves in harmony with nature and the territorial identity of the site.
For Inceptio Studio, Blerina Agritourism represents one of the most significant projects in its portfolio, as it embodies the principles of the studio's techno-vernacular philosophy in its most comprehensive form. More than an agritourism destination, the project serves as a model for rural regeneration, where architecture becomes a catalyst for strengthening local communities, preserving cultural heritage, and promoting sustainable development. Through the synthesis of tradition, nature, and innovation, the project demonstrates that architecture finds its greatest value when it creates not only meaningful spaces but also enduring relationships between people and the places they inhabit.
