The “AMC Multimedia” building is characterized as Brutalist architecture, a distinctive style that uses concrete
and clay block to create visually imposing buildings
that stand as magnificent symbols of a place, in power
and character. These two building materials portray an
expression of the building culture of our country over
decades, where buildings without facades constitute
a common feature throughout the territory, becoming
part of the collective memory and influencing the identity of urban spaces.
The “AMC Multimedia” building project is indicative of a
thoughtful and deliberate design that aims to combine
history and culture with the building’s contemporary
function. Enhancing the collective opinion that buildings
with untreated and neglected facades that provide a
sense of visual non-fulfilment, in this building has been
transformed into an identifying feature, offering it at the
service of the community and youth to convey a piece
of history, culture and mentality among its users.
