The “Focal House” project has been implemented in a
quiet residential area. From the beginning, this project,
was presented as a professional challenge, aiming to
understand how it would conceptually integrate in a
context with different typologies, but with common elements - small sizes, surrounding textures (red roofs) and
modest courtyards. All these aspects were incentives for
the creation of the house concept, which represented
the choice of a new approach without disturbing the
urban matrix of the space, a new reference point with
elements of contemporary architecture.
The contemporary approach to presentation and the
choice of the highlighted color of the facade also contribute to the integration of this building in the environment where the presence of terracotta-colored roofs
prevails. The simple volume of the house, with an elegant gesture at the eaves, forms a fused connection
with the neighboring building and ensures the continuity of the urban form.

The irregular square is essentially solved by conceiving
a service core in the form of a representative space located on two floors, where all communication spaces
and sanitary nodes are located. The core was formed
through a proportional reduction in size, which created
a perimeter of living and leisure spaces with a favorable
orientation and wide view.
In this case, it was the investor who fully believed in the
architectural concept, who dreamed of providing a functional and comfortable house for his family after almost
50 years of work and career, providing important contribution to people’s health. The same way the project of
the individual apartment tried to help him and his family
by offering them a dignified, happy and healthy life.
