PIKA Studio believes that architecture always begins with a simple idea that, through research and reflection, evolves into a space with a distinct identity. Founded in 2015, the studio has established a multidisciplinary practice in which architecture, urban planning, engineering, and interior design interact as parts of the same creative process. Every project is approached as an opportunity to create not only buildings but also environments that retain their value over time, becoming naturally rooted in people’s lives and in the memory of place.
DL Residence was conceived from the desire and passion to create a retreat where returning to one’s homeland is accompanied by the tranquility of the landscape and the slow rhythm of family life. Taking advantage of the generous dimensions of the site and the panoramic views toward the Sharr Mountains, the project places nature at the center of its composition, creating a silhouette in which greenery, the artificial terrain, and a reflecting water feature establish a seamless continuity between the residence and its courtyard. The architecture presents itself as a calm presence, with a restrained form and clean geometry, where the entrance becomes the first chapter of this spatial narrative.
Inside, the spatial organization revolves around the dining table, conceived as the heart of the home and the place where everyday life gains meaning through family gatherings. Spaces flow naturally from one function to another, while variations in floor levels, ceiling treatment, and material contrasts establish hierarchy without the need for physical partitions. Linear lighting traces the path of movement, timber introduces warmth and continuity, while dark stone lends the space a quiet sense of solidity, creating an atmosphere in which the interior furnishings and the architecture merge into a unified whole.
For PIKA Studio, this residence represents one of the projects in which the studio’s philosophy is expressed most naturally. It demonstrates that architecture is not measured by striking gestures, but by its ability to create places that endure over time and gain value the more they are lived in. In this project, the residence is not merely an object placed within the landscape, but a space that brings people together through memories, everyday rituals, and the sense of tranquility that only architecture conceived with sensitivity can offer.
